NIOS organizes a 2-day orientation program for master trainers in Leh-Ladakh

The National Institute of Open Education organized a two-day orientation program for master trainers and resource persons of the D.El.Ed program on May 30-31, 2022 in Leh-Ladakh. Participants came from all over UT Leh-Ladakh to attend the workshop. The session brought together more than forty master trainers and resource persons from the D.El.Ed program, according to the NIOS press release.

Previously, NIOS held two-day teacher training workshops in Jammu and Kashmir.

Professor Saroj Sharma, President of NIOS and Chief Guest on the occasion, said, “Strengthening the teacher education system through faculty capacity building must be a priority for every institution.

Dr. Safdar Ali, IRS, Director of Leh School of Education Department addressed the audience, inspiring and motivating them to voice their concerns and suggestions for improving the teaching structure and learning in Ladakh.

“Teachers are an important resource in our education system, and continuous efforts to develop teachers will definitely strengthen the high end of the Indian university system,” added Dr. Safdar Ali.

The workshop outlined the context-specific needs, as well as the knowledge, skills and attitudes that instructors must possess in order to facilitate the holistic development of formative age children.
