Private pesticide applicator license program to be held Feb. 1 – Chillicothe News Constitution-Tribune

In order for farmers to buy or apply restricted use pesticides on property they own or rent, they must have a private pesticide applicator license. Currently, there are two options for renewing a license or obtaining certification.

Field specialists in agronomy organize training sessions via Zoom. Anyone can join these meetings from their personal computer. Go to www.extension.missouri.edu/events and search for private pesticide applicator training to find the date and time of the next virtual training event.

A limited number of in-person training sessions are scheduled for 2022. In addition to attending the training session, each farm must have a copy of the Missouri Private Pesticide Applicator Reference Manual. If you already have one, please bring it to the session. Or they can be purchased from the MU Extension website at: www. extension.missouri.edu/m87. No manuals are available from the Livingston County Extension Office this year.

You must pre-register to attend. If you are not feeling well on training day, please stay home.

A program will be held in Livingston County on February 1 at the Mildred Litton Community Building located at 10856 LIV 235 west of Chillicothe. The program will start at 9 a.m. The agricultural update will follow with information from MU Extension’s agriculture and natural resources specialist. Call 660-646-0811 to register.

For more information, contact Agronomy Field Specialist Valerie Tate by email at [email protected] or call 660-895-5123. MU Extension programs are open to everyone.
