Samsung launches One UI 5 open beta program for Galaxy S22 series – Samsung Global Newsroom

Samsung Electronics today launched its One UI 5 open beta program which will initially be available on the Galaxy S22 series (Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra) in the United States, Germany, and South Korea, with releases in other other regions planned over the next few months. One UI 5 brings a range of new personalization, security and accessibility features as part of Samsung’s continued commitment to bringing the latest mobile experiences to as many users as possible.

Custom look and feel

The One UI 5 update introduces new ways for users to personalize their smartphone experience, including an expanded set of color options for a more personalized look. Users now get up to 16 preset color themes to match their wallpaper and 12 additional color options for their home screens, icons, and quick panels to look and feel to suit their style.

Users can further customize their home screens by stacking widgets of the same size on a single slot,1 save space and create a cleaner, more organized look.

One UI 5 also brings an easier way to customize notifications between apps to help you stay focused on what’s important. New controls make it easier for users to block notifications from certain apps, so they only see what’s relevant to them.

Improved language and sound settings

One UI 5 streamlines the process of changing sound and vibration settings with revamped menus that provide easy access to all ringer volumes and vibration intensities. For the first time, Galaxy users can also customize their preferred language for their different apps.2 Whether they are multilingual or just learning a new language, users can easily select which language will be used for each app in the settings.

More new features

The update brings several other new features that create an even better Galaxy experience for everyone. from improved camera capabilities and security resources to more accessibility tools.

Users can capture high-quality photos and videos more seamlessly with a new icon in Pro and Pro Video mode that offers helpful tips and tricks on how to use the different lenses, features and controls. Plus, a more responsive zoom bar means faster close-ups and easier focus on the subject using one hand.

With One UI 5, a new dashboard lets users view their phone’s security status, indicates if there are any security issues, and recommends ways to fix them.

The update also brings more accessibility options to make it easier for users to interact with their devices. The Magnifier function allows users to better view and read on their devices, while various types of voice assistance such as audio descriptions of videos and speak-aloud keyboard input help users navigate and use devices more seamlessly.
