Schnieders sets new program record as Knights compete in GVSU Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. — DK Schnieders set a new freshman men’s program record in the 5,000 as Bellarmine University track and field teams competed at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday.

There were multiple runs in the 5000. Freshmen Griffin Hunter, Austin Pulkowski and Matthew Wantland ranked third, fifth, and 14th in their 29-member series. Lewis was fourth of 28 in another, and second Josh Smalley took 13th out of 26 in another group.

In the junior women’s 5000m Anna Wells placed fourth out of 27 in her series, while junior Emma Wells finished fourth out of 21 in her 3000m race.

Senior Lauren Masden finished in the top half of the 76-member mile in 27th, while the sophomore Kendal Gibbon was in the lead pack in the triple jump after placing sixth.
