Schuette Metals donates to WSD’s vocational and technical training program

WAUSAU — Schuette Metals recently made a financial donation to the Wausau School District Vocational and Technical Education Program to advance the Wausau East and Wausau West High School manufacturing curriculum, the Wausau School District announced this week.

The money helped buy Industry 4.0 equipment. East High and West High manufacturing students will have the opportunity to learn about mechatronics, robotic operations and production technicians and gain access to a Fanuc robotic arm, training and evaluation system of manufacturing teaching students automation processes, robotics and AC/DC electrical processes. Students will have the opportunity to acquire intelligent automation credentials that demonstrate industry knowledge and skills with advanced Industry 4.0 manufacturing equipment.

Schuette Metals has been a leader in manufacturing synergy through the Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance, sponsoring SkillsUSA high school students, hiring youth apprenticeships, and supporting other district programs like the welding competitions and the eighth grade heavy metal tour.
