Tasmania Skilled Migration Scheme 2022-23 Provisional Opening

On Monday, September 12, 2022, Tasmania’s Skilled Migration State Appointment Program opened to Gold and Green pass applicants.

Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for one of the nomination pathways and have at least one gold or green priority attribute can now register their interest in the nomination. For the 2022-23 program year, Tasmania has received a qualified visa interim allocation of:

During this interim opening phase, all visa-eligible applicants will need to apply for an invitation from Migration Tasmania before they can apply. New information, exclusions and definitions for 2022-23

In response to comments and questions received by Migration Tasmania, additional information has been made available regarding the Skilled Migration Scheme. For instance:

  • Online study: Courses that are registered for on-campus delivery, but have moved to online delivery following COVID-19 health guidelines will be accepted. However, an online study completed after July 31, 2022 will not be recognized unless it was due to a state government health directive or the need to self-isolate following a COVID-19 test. positive or a close contact notification.
  • Qualifications acquired abroad related to employment: Qualifications acquired outside Australia will be recognized based on their relevance to current employment if the overseas institution is a nationally recognized institution in the relevant home country.
