Trocaire College Announces Health Career Program

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) – Trocaire College today announced its new healthcare career exploration learning and earning program.

Eligible candidates will learn about the healthcare system and the various career opportunities in nursing, radiation technology, healthcare management, surgical technology, massage therapy, and more.

The Learn and Earn Health Career Exploration Program is open to high school graduates with little or no college experience in ZIP Codes 14220 and 14210. Current Trocaire students are not eligible to enroll.

The program is funded by a $50,000 grant from Buffalo Common Council member Christopher Scanlon.

The Health Career Exploration Learning and Earning Program is running virtually for 10 weeks starting September 26. Sessions are not mandatory, but weekly check-ins are required with a health care advisor.

Benefits for completing the program include a $500 bonus and a Trocaire certificate of completion. A certificate can be converted into three college credits toward a future Trocaire degree.

Additionally, students pursuing their healthcare careers at Trocaire in 2023 will receive a $500 scholarship.
